Old Habits Die Hard

With only two and half days left in 2017, I’m busy thinking about new beginnings like most folks do around New Year’s Eve. I always try to have a resolution or two to start, but ultimately after a month or so they fall through the cracks. The usual suspects get in the way: time fatigue, television, boredom, work, etc. This year I’m not even going to try to set goals. I’m in grad school, my husband is recovering from a rotator cuff repair, my mom-in-law has a Parkinson’s like disease called PSP, and life is just too crazy. I’m going to do what everyone should do: live one day at a time. Instead of setting goals, I’m going to send up some prayers. First, I pray to grow closer in my relationship with Christ with my husband through a shared daily Bible study. Second, I pray for knowledge and wisdom to live healthier. This means eating cleaner, exercising, and engaging in stress relieving activities. Third, I pray for the strength and ability to humbly and graciously help care for my family. My mom-in-law is in need of care and my dad-in-law needs help with that. My husband also needs help dealing with the reality of his mom’s illness. And, finally, I pray to have knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to deal with all things unplanned. Life isn’t about daily schedules and commitments. Anything can be thrown in our paths during the course of a day or week. I pray and hope to use these situations for God’s good plans. I want to accept his will in my life and live peacefully. These are my New Year’s Prayers. I hope you will consider saying some of your own.

Summer Break 2016

It's my 10th summer break as an educator. My goal for the next 2 months is to RELAX!  So, far I've created two Bible journal entries. My goal is to try to create one a day for the whole summer. Here are the two I've created:

Project 365-Day 28

Day 28-So, some how, in the wee hours of the morning, I punched/scratched my eye REALLY bad! It's been sore all day. I got the diagnosis this afternoon. Antibiotic drops will be necessary this time. Yes, unfortunately this isn't the first time I've scratched my eye. #foureyedproblems
