My First Wedding Job

A couple of weeks ago I photographed my first wedding. At first I was extremely nervous about doing it, but now I am hooked! It was so much fun! I want to do it again! So, if you like what you see above, shoot me an email!!

Bible Reading

For some time now I have been neglecting my Bible reading, but recently I read a novel by Beverly Lewis. After reading this novel, I realized that I really need to get back to my Bible. Yesterday I was reading a chapter from Galatians. I came across this verse: "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another." (Galatians 5:13) This verse really struck me because I find myself constantly wishing for more freedom...more free time especially. So, here I am on summer vacation from my job, and I find myself not doing any of the things I wished I could be doing in my free time. Thinking on this while reading the above verse, I wondered about the true nature of "free time." Do we really ever have free time, or should we be praying and asking God what to do with our time? After asking myself this question, it really made me wonder if I wouldn't feel better about my day if I would just pray about it first. I mean if I spent my day doing what God wished for me to do, would I feel more fulfilled?

Indecisive

I hate being horribly indecisive about how to spend my time. It makes me feel useless.

Random Pictures

These photos were taken in random places at various times.

These are some photos from a recent trip I took to Petit Jean Mountain with my mom and grandmother.

I realized today that I never get to do what I want anymore. I guess this is all part of growing up, but it really sucks. Everyday, I wake up and think about all the things I am going to do when I get home. You know...all the things you'd rather be doing than going to work. But...when I get home, none of it happens!! I am so tired and worn out that I just sit on the couch like a zombie until I finally fall asleep, or I get up and get ready to go to bed because I know I am about to fall asleep. I don't know how it happened, but I totally ended up right smack in the middle of a career that wasn't my first choice. Oh, I'd much rather make art all day, but the way too orderly side of my personality would not jump out on a limb and just do it. I constantly say to myself..."I am going to start slow. I am going to make a few pieces and see how they sell," or "I will put an add in the paper for photography services," but sadly enough I never have enough time to do anything. I am starting to realize that life will never let that day come until I suck it up and push myself. I just feel like I've forgotten how to take that first step. Where did all my adventure go? Where did the young kid who was ready to take the world by storm end up? I don't know, but I sure hope I find her soon. I cannot imagine my life without creating art.

Country Drive

Okay, so...yah...it has been quite sometime since my last post. Sorry. I have been so busy with my job. An educator's work is never done (even in the summer). However, it is spring break week. So, I was able to make a little time for a drive around my community today. Most of these pictures are of landscapes and homes in Southern Arkansas. I love taking pictures of homes because I believe they say so much about the people who live in them. I hope you enjoy this pics. I enjoyed taking them!
